VICTORIAN ALL WELSH

Off we headed to the VAW, the first show as a family of three boys.  What a weekend we had and it was lovely to be back at Tatura after EI saw us sidelined last year.

Kunat Jay Jay had a wonderful first VAW with her new family.  3rd childs ridden, 2nd ridden sec a mare, 5th welsh hunter mare or gelding. One very tired pony by the end of the 3 days. But such a trouper for her new family.

Kunat Kardinal Beau put in a super effort for his first show. With only 2 rides with the lovely Bridget & his first ever event under saddle he came 4th in his open child's pony. Was called in first but the scarey tents on the other side of the arena got the better of him. The following day he won the novice ridden welsh, team Kunat was ecstatic, it was like winning Supreme. He then went on for a 6th place in the ridden gelding. The following day he was 2nd in the led show hunter & also in the ridden show hunter. A VERY good show for our little clown pony with thanks to Tarryn Godfrey for all her hard work with him. He's set high standards for the rest of his show career with his new family.

NATIONAL WELSH & AUTUMN SHOW

Another big weekend for Jay Jay.  1st First Ridden Novice, 2nd Ridden Welsh A Mare, 3rd Children's Ridden, 4th Native Pony.  Once again our thanks must go to Bailey for doing such a great job with our young pony.

Kunat Miss Bonica had her first trip off the farm for her led two year old filly class & we were pleased with her 4th placing.  Looking more like an arab than a welsh when she first came out of her stable, she settled in well.  Let's hope she follows in her big sister's footsteps.

VICTORIAN ALL WELSH

We finally made it to our very first Victorian All Welsh.  And what a ball we had.  Jay Jay, ridden by 11 year old Bailey Trimble, won her Sec A Ridden Mare/Filly class.  Due to a rider change at the last minute we were unable to enter Jay Jay in the junior rider classes, but we're sure she would have done well there too.  She really does head around the arena like an old pony who's been doing it for many years.  We must thank Bailey for the wonderful effort she put in with Jay Jay.  Bailey also scored 64% on both (talk about consistent) her dressage tests, scoring well above more experienced riders.  And a fifth in her ridden hunter class. Well done Bailey & Jay Jay.

FROSTY'S FIRST FOAL

Thorpeville Gold N Frost's first baby has finally hit the ground.  A beautiful palomino colt to our lovely mare Dalgangle Lana.  We can't be happier with this lovely boy.  It's been a long wait having purchased Frost as a yearling.

Pop over to the youngsters page to view our new addition.

NEBRPG PERFORMANCE SHOW

The weather was really turned on for us at the Oaxley Reserve near Wangaratta.  A glorious day with some terrific results.  Kunat Jay Jay began the day by winning the Newcomer Native Pony under three judges.  She then went on to win Novice Ridden Native Pony under 12.2 hh & Ridden Welsh Mountain. She placed in about the middle of the field for her 2 preliminary dressage tests, which was good going for her first trip around the arena. We have to thank Kasey for once again working this pony to up to her full potential. When I bred her I had never envisage her doing so well.

JUNE 2006

PURCHASE OF OUR FIRST COB

Ruth's love of cobs returned in June with a trip to Tatura to look at a pally sec D filly by the well decorated Barnon Imperial Jack, or just "Jack" to his friends.  Jack is owned by Norm Clark and has been there done that.  With many champs to his name in both led and ridden Jack now specialises in dressage.  He recently won the EFA Novice Pony Dressage, he seems to be mastering that as well having recently moved onto Medium.  He truely is a superstar.  Ruth is not  the most competant or confident rider but Jack carted her around like the true gentleman he is.  We couldn't pass up the opportunity to purchase his daughter Yarrabuck Park Von Zipper aka Nikki, not only does she carry Jack's amazing temperament but is going to be a lovely golden pally as well.  We hope that Nikki follows in her father's footsteps.  See her on our youngsters page.

MARCH 2006

EUSTON AG SHOW

This was 4 year old Jackson’s first show and we hit the Topsey ring at the Euston Aggie. What a wonderful day we had. Jack brought home a pile of ribbons and both he and Jay Jay performed impeccably. We also got a big bag of goodies from Mildura Horseland (AKA Nick’s Saddlery) with brushes, a lead rope & heaps of “books”.

We are amazed with the maturity of this pony.  Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that a 3 year old pony would be suitable for a 4 year old beginner rider.  She has surpassed all expecations we had for her.

I had plans on doing her led breeds as well.  I managed to get her in her open pony class where she came second up against all the plaited ponies. Who said welshies don’t do well in open? Then when her pally classes came up I was waiting for Jackson’s next class. I didn’t want to miss his classes so we stood that one out too. Afterall it was his day.

A great weekend though a little hot on the Sunday.  Jay Jay had her first outing amongst the "big guns" of the welsh world.  And what a great trooper for such a young pony.  We could not have asked any more of her for the weekend.  A big thank-you to Kasey Tozer for finishing her off and bringing out the best in our wonderful pony.
